Carbon OTW-2 for Desperate Optima Mids

I finally managed to build custom made OTW-2 for Optima Mids!
This is the sweet name for the special shock stays released by Kyosho for Turbo Optima Mids and followers, namely: Turbo Optima Mid, Turbo Optima Mid SE, Turbo Optima Mid Special, Optima Mid Custom and Optima Mid Custom Special. They were made with black FRP, and the bad thing was that they tend to break during a race (mostly the front shock stay)... and therefore the OTW-2 is getting rare and expensive these days on ebay.
Mines are made with 2mm thick Carbon fibre panels, much stronger than FRP or aluminium (even if I prefer FRP for their beauty and authenticity).
If you are interested, I have some spares, so just ask...

Hey, I've an Optima Mid Custom, tuned up a bit. I'm restorating and continued tu tune it up during the last few weeks. I broke three front shock stays and I'm really interested in this OTW-2 carbon edition. I would be thankfull if you could contact me (ICQ 328253294), perhaps I could also present my car in your blog when its finished. Greetings from Germany

I have an all original Optima Mid I bought back in 1990 or 1991, that I am looking for is the kit that would extend the wheel base. Does anybody know where I might be able to find one. At the very least the longer belt, I can make the other pieces.

Hi daveb
the long wheelbase kit consists essentially of a longer carbonfiber chassis, a set of belt covers, and a a longer belt. I can provide the belt but you should try ebay and tamiyaclub for the other parts.

Hi, i have an Turbo Optima Mid and Turbo Optima Mid SE. I am after two sets of the original "Bridgestone" spike tires, two bodies, wings and decals. I think i may be able to get the bodies from Kamtech Models. Can anyone help with decals and tires?

I've just dug out my old Turbo Optima and Turbo Optima Mid SE, and lo and behold I'm staring at a broken front shock tower. Have you still got some of the ones you made up you'd part with?

Looking for Optima Mid belt covers and Optima Mid, long wheelbase belt covers as well. Does anyone know who makes them or where I can get them? Thanks.

I have the Turbo Optima Mid SE and would like to know if there is anywhere I could buy some of the original Bridgestone tires or replicas. You truely have a great website for the optimaniacs.
Thanks,

optimaforver, thanks for recommending Marwan for the belt covers. I ended up placing a large order with him incl some bodies.

I am interested in one set of your carbon fiber shock towers; maybe two sets. Is there any chance that you also produce a long wheebase CF chassis with servo mounting holes? Alot of these 3rd party lwb chassis do not have holes for the servo.

Thanks!

I still have some spare shock stays for sale, on ebay.
The reason third parties don't drill holes for the servos is (I guess) because racers use tape instead of screws (more flexible, more possibilities with small servos, etc.), the only reason I didn't launch a repro of the LWB carbon chassis is because you still can find the original by your kyosho dealer (at a price: over 100US$, ok! :D). But I can do that, indeed... How many do you want? ;-)
